Azndragon's melody1

Heres the track I remixed from melody1 from this thread.

progressive aka melody1 Jacheatamobits' gravity wave remix(left clilck) progressive/melodic trance

The bass is muddy at times, and the pads overwhelm the lead, but its not finished quite yet! Im seriously at a brick wall with all my work until friday, so here it is so far. The anthem-type lead and percussions were made by Azn. I pretty much arranged everything with a loop he supplied and just added some crap lol.

I look forward to sharing some more finished tracks with you guys. I should be hammering out a whole stack of 'em before school starts, just waiting on a macbook. I just need some decent hosting, and some time!

You are getting good mate. But the kick in my humble opinion is too high in the mix and it clips/distorts on the first hit of every bar where the bassnote strickes at the same time.

The offhat gets lost alot when the lead and pad wander in. The pad at 2:58ish is pretty spiffing. Nice one. I cant hear much else on the shitty speakers I am listening on at the moment though. But if I can hear the clip on these 3 watters, its a big problem.

Cuz of the EQ, right?

I just remembered I have the project file saved as it was when I rendered this. All the right plugins are in place (thanks to azn) so its a simple matter of tweeking it on decent speakers!

so you guys dont think theres a problem with the melodies/structure of the song as a whole?

Im thinking of pulling the side-chain-muting thing on the pads. Maybe work in a phaser...

Yeah I thought the structure was fine, but some of the synth sounds were really high in mid/upper mid range and that's what I meant by harsh. I think the fact you compressed to 96kbps would have had an impact too. Most people have decent internet speeds now so you could get away with bigger file sizes

Although for studio perpouses my speakers arnt all that great my opinion is that the leads sound kind of thin. I guess harsh may be a word but i think the instruments just need a tiny bit of tweeking.
