I was privileged to see Brett Favre play in person when I went to my very first NFL Game. I saw the Packers play the Jets at the Meadowlands in the regular season finale December 2002. Even though I had fun watching the Jets cream the Packers that day (Hands down the best memory for me as a Jets fan), I was also excited to see THE Brett Favre play in person in what turned out to be the most important regular season game of the 2002 season, since many playoff fates was decided on this game.
Thanks for the memories, Brett.

Word in Wisco papers is that he is not at all happy with Ted Thompson again this offseason - and considering how strained that relationship was even going into this last season, I wouldn't expect to see him back.
And Vern - that's pretty neat that you saw him in your first NFL game. I had the good fortune of growing up 20 minutes from Lambeau, and having a grandmother who lived two blocks from the stadium, so I was fortunate enough to have a lot of opportunities to see him play in GB.
I've never bought a sports jersey in my life, but I'm seriously debating purchasing an authentic (replica) Favre throwback jersey right now.
there's no way he leaves now, bears are horrible next year (got rid of both starting WRs), lions suck as always, and the only competition in that division are the vikes, who don't even have a QB.
yeah he might be pissed now, or whatever is going on. but there's no chance in hell you don't come back to a division you can win with a 9-7 record next year.

Have you even read and/or seen the reasons he gave for retiring?

Huh, I never read or heard anything remotely like that.
And in any event, as long as McCarthy and Thompson don't go spend a bunch of money on some douche free agent QB and instead stick with Rogers, there's always a chance he'll decide in June he wants to give it one more go.

it's in the yahoo! article on the issue.
there will always be a riff with McCarthy, but you can't argue the man came in and fixed some of the things Brett was doing wrong (namely sloppy mechanics) and resurrected a great career for a couple more years.

I hope he doesn't come back. He was one of the greatest and one of my all time favorite QBs.....but I would hate to see him come back a year down the road only to suck it up and go out on a bad note. I think it's a perfect time for him to walk away on good terms.....and Green Bay didn't go after Moss so I think he made the right decision. The guy is a true warrior.
