its all good man - yeah maybe tomm i will get to that www.filegone.com biz
about the bassline - mean obviously this is Your track and you should do what make you feel right - i think theres probably a medium between the overly-funked out bass and a 1-2 note pattern bass you know what im sayin? take a break from this track - make some patches or soemthing. then a few days later sit down and focus only on the bassline - try to make a fun, driving, energetic bassline without playing the octave like you almost did and maybe sidechain it? i love sc - also, i tend to stick with 8th notes or larger in my basses to keep from being too intensive and taking away from the rest of the track. a great ex. of the opposite of that would be gabriel and dresden - tracking treasure down (i.e. towards the end when the bassline goes nuts. personally, i think thats the worst part of that song and i LOVE that song. that bassline WORKS.. but it is hard to follow.. clubwise the note progression does blend to sound like an intense heart beat - at least thats what i felt when i heard it live)
ultimately do what you think sounds right but if you work out some sample basslines you can let me know and ill give em a listen n give you any feedback on what i like, etc.
goodluck chief!
