Reals going to be a dads army. How's the good ? All three of those players are past their prime. Even Cannavaro who was excellent in the world cup probably has another 1-2 seasons left in him. What Real needed was quality young players. Instead their going to start the season with a overweight superstar in Ronaldo, and a lazy forward in Ruud leading the attack. Not good enough to beat Barca I'm afraid, who have really gone out and made some quality signings. Zambrotta and Gudjohnseen are significant improvements in that team, and will ensure they win La Liga again.
Real need to build for the future with players like Cesc Fabregas, Reyas, Cristino Ronaldo, Mascherano / Diarra, Torres...not aging superstars. How's have Emerson and Cannavaro any different from the Galatico's policy ?
The way I see it, Madrid won't finish higher then 2nd...and maybe a QF place in the Champions League.
PS. I'm not a Barca fan. I just think they are a team headed in the right direction, where Real had to settle for the bargin sale of Juventus because they couldn't lure their first choice options from the other top clubs in Europe.
