Recording with m audio 2496?

I have my decks hooked up to my computer, therefore their being played out through my sound card (audiophile 2496). the problem is when i am playing the right channel it plays fine although when i mix in the left channel it isnt stereo whereas the other channel is. ive tried playing around with everything and checked my leads for faults but their fine. anyone had this problem or know a solution?

thanks

Maybe you need to rephrase your question.

The M Audio 2496 offers 4 in/4 out. so, I don't know
how you can record right channel in stereo, when you only
have 2 inputs for recording.

Again, your question doesn't add up.

The 2496 offers 2 inputs (Left Right) and, 2 outputs
(Left & Right) Try taking a picture of what you are doing.

Mixer's Master Out (Left/Right) -> Sound Card In (Left/Right).
