I loved Avalon when I was in college and since it has been a couple years could you tell me what the atmosphere is like these days? Between 2002 and now I saw Tiesto's indoor set in May and that's it; would you classify that a typical Avalon crowd with a big name DJ?
Either way I might find my way up |
I would honestly say the best thing to go to Avalon for is a big-name but not-US-famous type of act.. like a Markus Schulz or a Blank & Jones... Cuz you get their awesome music, space to dance, and hopefully at least it is decently crowded? The best examples of this are when Above & Beyond are here... They are SO good but so few people know of them, so they don't fill up the club (1st time they were here in July 05, it was sparsely crowded, and Jan '06 was a bit more crowded and just the right amount of people.. what I envision B&J or Markus to be)... but it's nto even close to a Ferry or Armin or Tiesto.. where it gets SO full that you cant move, and they jack up prices of tickets and the meatheads come out to play...
For those good djs though that aren't like armin-famous, its a pretty good venue.. prob. not like it was in 2002 but it has to do... its the only venue we got lol
PS that was me who was standing near you all night in Armin.. you didn't step on my feet / were really not rude at all!! I just forgot to write back to your PM earlier But you were the good kind of person to stand next to at a show like that
