Interviews :: Michael Mayer @ RBMA Rome Session 2004 // James Holden @ Osaka, Japan

Two interviews well worth checking out.

Michael Mayer - Techno genius is Mayer indeed. His productions are as innovative as his sets, blending elements of acid house, disco and the new "minimal-wave". However, Mayer is true to its form. He still makes music for the leftist approach on dancefloors; Ambients and dubs that embrace the whole concept of his label KOMPAKT, based in Cologne, Germany.

note : You need Quicktime.

James Holden - No introduction needed, interview recorded while at his Japan gig, an into the artist music, productions, ideas and the future of the most forward thinking label at the moment. Border Community.

The scientist cannot capture the whole cosmos in thought. In his mind he makes a kind of microcosm, which we see as an analogue of the cosmos. In this way we try to get a feeling for the whole. The artist, I suppose, gets a feeling for the whole some other way.”

Holden mentions a "beatbox" in this interview.
Could you tell me how they come, brands, functions, maybe pics?
