Unhappy Turntable skipping

Hey

I got a problem with my turntable. It keeps skipping and no matter what I do I can’t get it 2 stop skipping. I have played with all the settings (weights, anti skate, etc.) and bought new stylus for the carts but it still won’t stop skipping. What should I do?

The turntable is a Numark TTX 1 and the carts are Stanton 680 - 11

Can anyone help me out?

Thanks

Chris

So many friggin things could be going on man. I had the same problem and what fixed the issue was the screw that is at the top of the tone arm being way too tight. If yours is tight then loosen it just a little. I think it was so tight on mine it wasn't allowing it to move to the next groove correctly. If in fact the screw is too loose then tighten it a little.

Good luck.

I had that exact problem and it almost caused my head to explode with frustration.
The needle was skipping backwards.

Be carefull not to unscrew the entire thing because you dont want the barings to pop out. Just loosen it a tiny bit.

Yeah, just turning it slightly should loosen it enough. I actually went too far and it was skipping because of that. You just gotta find a happy medium.
