Repairing DJM - 500

So I got a hand me down mixer from my uncle and I find that there are a few problems that require attention. Just wondering if you guys have any experience with fixing the DJM 500. First the channel 4 upfader with cut out at times, the channel 3 cue button doesn't work unless i press down on it really hard. Channel 2 mid eq knob can cut out at times, gets annoying. And the effect selector jumps from effects to other effects, unless i hold it down hard, it doesn't jump.

Is this just a quick resolder job? or will I need to order some new parts?
If I do, can you guys suggest any place, I can order them? Pio Dealers doesn't have much support for their discontinued products.

honestly it sounds like your mixer just needs a good cleaning

try some compressed air and electronics cleaner

I went to use a DJM600 (I think it was 600) onThurs and the headphone volume knob was stuffed, it would allow you to turn up the volume about 30% and then it went crackly, and from there on nothing at all. Sounds like they use pretty crappy components in manufacture.

You could try a resolder on the buttons and see if it helps, but it might be they need replacing. The knobs would be stuffed I'd say. You could try removing them and pulling them appart to clean them, but see if you can get replacements first, incase things don't work out. this is my fader tute which you could use as a starting point, I've not done pot's before, so I don't know how they'd go. If you want I can do one when I can get the time.
