WHAT!!?! I couldn't disagree more :-) I agree that Gigi has a very special sound, but in IMHO that's what it is - special - not bad!
I think he has done several mixes that are really, really well done in the sense that they have an edge and energy that don't come easy (i.e. takes a lot of tweaking, getting the eq and comps just right etc.).
Try listening to almost any track from the "Under Construction" EP - a kick and a bass that hits that hard, but still sounds very clean is not easy to produce (again imho).
Also listen to "Complex" - it's difficult to fit so much into a mix without it being cluttered, but I don't think it gets cluttered at all at any time...
Oh well, I guess it all depends on taste...
However, I completely agree with the guy that said Basshunter - "Boten Anna" is poorly produced. It was done in Fruity, for crying out... Probably all software VSTi and VSTs - and maybe just a T-Racks with the "Loud & Clear"-preset for mastering to finish it off nicely ;-) But hey, the song is a smashing hit all over Scandinavia.
Otherwise I would vote for the "DJ Sammy"-stuff. Don't like the thin sound...
Regards
