A few ???

1.What are your settings On the Arm-height adjustment ring

2.What are your settings On the Anti-Skating control knob (what does this actually do)

3.What are your settings On the stylus pressure ring (just mixing/not scratching)

4.The reason I ask these questions is because When I installed the Technic cartridge and tried putting the weight on the tonearm it freakin went almost flying out the roof. I adjusted it so that it was in the middle and then it leveled out......is this how it is supposed to be. The only thing about this is the arm just stays in the center of the record and does on move along the rest of the record. Also....I was looking at the manual and it was saying something about an auxiliary weight. I do not have one but is this needed.

Sorry for all the question.......appreciate any help......

Also......were is a place where I can get diff color covers........my silver has scratches and was gonna put some black ones on there...

Ok, i have this same setup. But I don't know if how I have everything calibrated is the right way.

1. I have this set at 1. Reason is because at this setting the tonearm is parallel to the table. Ive heard that this is what you want to achieve.

2.I have anti-skate set at the same # i have my tonearm weight set at. This is what I read in the instructions.

3. I set my weight verry low for practicing. Not so low that it skips everytime i rock the record. I have mine set at 2.5grams.

Hope i could have helped.

1 My arm height is set to 0. It has to be level. IE when the needle is on the vinyl, your tonearm should be perfectly level with the TT. I have Shure M44-7's but my back ups are Orto nightclubs and i have to set it to 1.2 mm above because they are that much taller

2 Always have the anti skate set to zero. I dont know what it does exactly, but i work in a club and when i got hired the head DJ said touch it and you will die, something about how much the arm moves when cueing and such. I have always had it at zero and i have no problems.

3 I have the pressure set to 3.5 on my carts and on the orto's they are set at 2. Each particular needle has its own range. Refer to the manuals for that.

To weight the arm correctly I would try telling you, but a video is much better to see it in. Props to DJ Ludvig at djludvig.com for the vid. It is about 600 K and you need realplayer to see it:

http://www.djludvig.com/images/tonearm.ram

when it is level (b4 you add pressure to it) put the numbers so zero is at the top then turn it and what ever number it is on is the amount of grams force it will be tracking at.

Good luck
