Unhappy Just a few thoughts, please read

It has always amazed me how subjective music is.

I was watching the news today, and the main topic was the arrest of 24 British Nationals of Pakistani descent, who were planning a terrorist attack, consisting of hijacking 10 planes while travelling from the U.K. to America.

This is the latest news ive got regarding one of the most frightening situations going on in the last 100 years.

You might think im a nutjob, but im not.

If you just sat on your couch and watched the TV, read a newspaper or listened to the radio a bit, you would see that the world is in a transition phase, lets face it, we are in World War 3. The stage we are at right now is the same as Hitler taking over Czechoslovakia during World War 2.

Lets not forget about the war in the middle east, Israel vs. Lebanon, where thousands of people have been wounded and many more have died in the past 2 weeks.
Plus, North Korea Plans to launch missiles aimed at America.
Plus, Iran plans to erase Israel from the Map.

August 22nd is supposed to be the day that Iran will bring to life its evil plan of destroying Israel and America. Rumours say there are bombs set up in the major American Cities, such as Detroit, Miami, Los Angeles, Boston, NY, Seattle, etc, etc, etc.

Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez is Iranīs ally.

The war in Iraq has been going on for 3 years now...

All these situations to be honest with you, make me very very very sad. And Scared.

Add Global Warming, Poverty, etc, etc, etc.

Now, you might be thinking, what the hell is this guy thinking, and why did he post it here.

The answer is very simple.

I started this post saying it has always amazed how subjective music is, and indeed, its always amazed me.

One of the few pure things remaining in this world is Music, and with all these situations in the world its really comming to a second plane to me.

Im, to be honest with you, FRIGHTENED. and not because of what might happen to me, but because of what this world will turn into. All the Joys the humans have, such as Music, Sex, Love, Games, etc, are part of ourselves, they make us human.

Why do people have to choose war over peace? If there is so much beauty in this world to explore?

Do you imagine the difference itll make if a kid picked up a guitar or sat in front of a piano instead of grabbing knifes?

Music is one of the few distractions i personally have that really set me apart from my worries. And i think i might be one of the few people who are really worried about all these events happening in the world.

Just think about it for a second.

Charles.

Im with you Globalelctro in the way of seeing things but yet wars are way deeper than that...Each one of these countries are so much into themselves they truly do not care about the beautiful things out ther...I mean it does happen sometimes that music put the ppl together but the main problem is government...they dont really care any way I think they are too brain washed themselved with their own ideas they cant even se beautiful things...but btw...all these conflicts are going on for ages...killing and and and..it didnt start now...tho still I tend to agree that this world is going mad!!!

+1 ... religion most definitely

we aren't in World War 3 though..

and I don't see what you mean about this being analogous to the period when Hitler took over the Czech republic.

I feel like you are just feeling a little overwhelmed,

imho the bottom line is that WW2 came too soon after WW1 for us to get much perspective on WW1. Now we've had over 50 years of time for people to analyze WW1/2 and I think now we know a lot more about the causes and prevention of world wars.

The United States has never and will never go on a territorial offensive, waging war for purposes of conquering and gaining land. Currently there are no superpowers who have good enough armies to contend for that. The western world isn't retarded enough to try and go on a territorial expansion campaign, and the rest of the world isn't powerful enough.

The most we are looking at is a series of regional wars. The Middle East is a given. East Asia is also a trouble spot. You mentioned North Korea. The missiles they just launched at the United States are not at all feared by the US Government. The missile defenses that the US has in place on the western seaboard are nothing short of amazing. I'm an engineer and my grandfather works in the Pentagon. He recently went out to service a 28 story tall radar that is floating disguised as an oil rig on the west coast of the US. It can detect as much as a model rocket being launched out of Korea and track it as far as it goes.

The sorry excuse for a missile they recently launched from Korea blew up accidentally minutes after being launched, but the radar I mentioned would have intercept coordinates for the missile throughout it's entire flight. These coordinates are automatically relayed into the cockpits of air force jets that can be sent on a moments notice to go terminate the missile.

In the mid-90s the United States had nearly 0% missile defense, but these days it's much better.

Uh.. I got off topic a little. You mentioned the missile threat of Korea against the US. Now this doesn't prevent Korea bullying local neighbors, but what DOES prevent that is China and other nearby powers. If North Korea started stirring up conflict, it would be quickly put to rest by China, not wanting to see a regional war in the area. They have many reasons for this, particularly their fast growing capitalist economy.

this isn't to say you shouldn't be scared, there are lots of thigns happening in the world. but that doesn't mean that they will amount something as massive as World War 3 with millions of deaths on all sides.

=(... religion has always made me kinda depressed. i have a lot of korean friends who mostly tend to be christian and they try to convert me sometimes asking me why i can't put my faith in god. i've just always felt that the original intentions of most religions have been skewed by people using it for their own personal goals. throughout history you can clearly see that from the time humans became somewhat civilized, religion has played a huge factor in so many wars. why does so much killing and evil have to happen in the name of god? you can just see how gullible people are these days and then you can begin to understand how the masses were swayed back in history to go on massive crusades and expeditions conquering new lands, destroying civilizations all in the name of god. whatever happened to using these amazing texts such as the bible as strictly moral guidance and teachings of how to live and treat each other with respect. somehow people began taking these books too literally and begin interpreting it in their own right using it lead the mindless peons. now in the middle east, the muslim radicals are blindly leading their recruits to "glory" while over here in america, the middle american christian is becoming more racist and anti-everything non-american. what can we do except wait until the unexpected happens once again and our world gets turned upside down.

people need to start treating each other with respect and dignity. why let thousand year old scriptures dictate how we think. the human brain is such an amazing organ and tool. surely we all have enough intelligence to put ourselves first before our religion.

id say at this point religion, or extreme religion at least, is a way bigger problem than global warming. kind of sad.

It's certainly likely to end the world sooner.
