Money in music

Hi all

I was just wondering if theres anyone in this forum who has had an official release, knows someone who had an official release or just has knowledge on the subject.

Can one survive on doing trance music production ?
How much does one get on a release ?
What is a fair price to charge for a remix ?

And lastly on DJing, what are the going rates in yor own country and out of your country ?

All this rates would be based as on a professional career.

Hig,mediums and lows would be nice as well.

Thanks...any help is greatly appreciated.

I think about how much u get for a release is based on the Label itself .If u release on a good Label "Known one" i mean u will get about 300-500 $ for a release, but if u release on a shitty label you will get discount on their products and u wont get anything but im not 100% sure

I'm finding this really hard to believe.
So how do all the producers afford such exclusive studios and keep doing music over and over, year after year if there is no money in it.

$300-500 won't buy one much....

C'mon producers, share some info

The thing i would like to know is how much you earn i like a whole year? Avarage.

Now i dont mean like Tiesto, bla bla, more like the signed ones here in the forum!

Cheers

i think that would really depend on how many tracks you get signed in a year. one year you could have 5 signed and the next one.

for those signed to digital labels it would be interesting to know what percentage you get and how much did you make from the track as realistically the majority of people will start of on a digital label.
