nice job on the mixdown. you got your levels right in this.

like the bass and the melody although i wasnt too keen on how you changed the chord progression of the bass synth, it didnt sound right. breakdown, im not keen on the synth it sounds too dated. a plucked sound would be much better here.

you have put it together well though. just sounds too dated in terms of todays trance.

keep it up!

Like the energy in the bass.

btw, Dj Kane, why did it sound dated? Were the sounds and synths low quality? I think it could work, just the supersawish synth after the buildup maybe needs more highs, and a pad to fill up the mix.

listening to it after giving my ears a 2 hour break. like the piano the best. the synth used after this in the breakdown sounds like blank and jones in 1999/2000. apart from that not a bad track.

I know what the guys mean when they say it sounds slightly dated. Not that it's a bad thing.
I think what they refer to is that this track could do with a few more elements i.e. pads and so on. It lacks the complexity in terms of the more recent trance productions.

In terms of production I think it's a good job, you have balanced your sounds pretty well and the overall sound is right for the track.

As I said, good job all the same.

Cheers
Nem

I really like the melody and the energy, the kick is nice!. But I think the synth in the break is to load. Keep working!

teh bass change is 1 semitone too high thats why it sounds weird. it needs to be 1 semitone lower otherwise its out of tune completely.

Nice energy in this track, and as the others said it does sound a little dated. But this kind of trance is still getting played in clubs so it's not 'dated' dated just not ASOTish.
The kick and bass work brilliantly together. The melody works well but isn't that memorable, it's not a 'stand out' but overall I reckon this is still a nice solid piece of hardish trance.

Anything that's not ASOT or ANJUNAish has to be a good thing.

Good job, I like this type of Trance. My music sounds a bit like yours.
You can check it out on [[ LINK REMOVED ]]

I also make everything in Reason 3.0,.. although I have a MC-505 and a Novation Nova laptop. There on for sale by the way!
I think you can do almost everything in Reason, with a good soundcard.

Do you have any tips and tricks to build a good melody. Sometimes I'm sitting in front of my computer and nothing happens. I can produce some nice sounds and beats, but a melody does the job I think.
I'm curious about your new projects.
