Twinkling Bass?

Im wondering how to create that high mid bass you hear in a lot of above and beyond tracks and john o callaghan tracks. they bring it about 17 bars into the track or at the beginning and it rises and rises then the low bass drops. been trying to create something like this for a while but with no luck.

here's a sample:

SAMPLE

Also i was wondering if anyone new the bass pattern of this and how many bass layers there are. i havent the slightest idea what the pattern is but i think theres only two basses.

thanks

It's either a highpassed bass sound or it's eqed so that mainly the 800hz+ range is played. The lower bass if you hear it is just a sidechained bass for the pumpy feel. You can use any bass sound really for the high mid bass. Just make sure that it has a fairly short decay, short sustain and short release. This allows it to run throughout the track. A good delay will help it "roll" too.

From what I hear right now, this is what i get from the bass pattern.

bxxb bxbx bxxb bxbx

but I also hear another pattern in there hitting on the "e" of the beat if you count like this...

1e+a 2e+a 3e+a 4e+a

and the notes i think are either E to F or D# to F. Good luck

I can figure out the bass pattern when i get home. but the bass sounds like a Saw pluck Im sure i can put somthing together. when the low bass drops its actually a separate bassline that enhances the plucky bass line. bass layering. let me get home and ill write up examples bassed on the samples you provided
