MARCEL WOODS / Trance/ Rytmic Records, High Contrast Recordings/ www.marcelwoods.com / Netherlands

Musical Madness... what better way to typify Marcel Woods his life? In less than two years, he managed to appear on the main stages of many major dance festivals, such as Sensation Black, Dance Valley, Trance Energy, MayDay, Innercity, Antwerp is Burning and Defqon 1. Clearly, Marcels tough 'TechTrance' style appeals to a very wide audience all over the world. With Marcels top hits such as Advanced and Monotone which are at the top of the charts in Europe he has become an established producer who still manages to infuse his records with a strong underground feeling. Therefore you could easily say it looks like the Sky is the limit for Marcel Woods in a world he describes as "a world full of Musical Madness."

DJ DEAN / Tech-Trance / Tunnel Force, Tunnel Records/ www.djdean.de/ www.tunnel.de/ Germany

"Music is my life!", DJ DEAN's motto.
This truthful saying is the impulse of an exceptional career which makes this artist from Hamburg to one of the most beloved DJs in Germany. The Resident-DJ of the Techno/Trance Club TUNNEL achieved effortlessly the jump into the top 10 of the Media Control Charts with each of more than 30 published volumes of the CD "TUNNEL TRANCE FORCE".

The master of contemporary Trance got another enormous thrust of popularity in the scene with the maxi-vinyls "DJ DEAN - PROTECT YOUR EARS", "DJ DEAN - PLAY IT HARD", "DJ DEAN - IT´s A DREAM" and "DJ DEAN - BALLANATION " Also his project "DAS LICHT", which he runs together with the successful producer Atilla Girisken (Cocooma), possesses a character of cult in the scene. In the meantime he has a lot of different projects like: Angel Beats, Barbarez, Dynamic D´s,Sylver Liquid, Impegement Syndrom, Van Nilson, and so on. Each of this projects
covers an own sound / style

CHRISTIAN SMITH Techno/Funky House / Tronic Treatment / www.tronicmusic.com / Sweden

While there's no doubt that Christians distinctive work injected a much-needed sense of funk back into techno, he made it accessible to a wider audience. His DJing is of an exceptionally high standard; Smiths willingness to travel to literally every country in the globe has been another determining factor in his ascendance.

Despite his newfound success, Christian didn't rest on his laurels, and, for rest of the nineties, he focused on DJing, producing and remixing as much as possible. Releasing more EPs on Tronic, Intec and Primevil, the Swedish DJ says that though one of his releases, Vanguard caught the attention and support of BBC Radio 1 DJ Pete Tong, he had to keep working as hard as ever. The really big crossover records like Move!, on Intec and the releases on labels like Rotation and Intec opened up his work to a lot of people.

His sense of diversity and unwillingness to adhere to one dimension is an ethic Christian believes is inherent in the worlds finest DJs. Christian was most inspired by Carl Cox and Laurent Garnier. Although both DJ’s are quite different what Christian saw in Carl was the ability to mix continuously between three turntables, and create that musical fusion. Tronic was one of the first tech-house labels, music that house and techno DJs could play; Christian calls his style housey techno!

REID SPEED Drum & Bass / Breakbeat Science/ Direct Drive/ www.reidspeed.com / LA

Reid Speed began her DJ career in the New York City drum & bass underground. At the same time Reid was serving as her college radio station's RPM director as well as working at Breakbeat Science, the US's first exclusively drum & bass store. Capitalizing on their large and widespread customer base, her demos soon spread across the country, which led to her travelling the US, Puerto Rico, Ireland, Canada, and Mexico. In 2001, after thirteen self released mix tapes and one animated short movie for Showtime's Shonext channel, "Resonance" was released by Breakbeat Science. The mix garnered massive critical praise in publications like URB, Fader, Flaunt, and Paper, and was a commercially successful debut. In support of the release, a 40 date tour sponsored by Mixer magazine introduced her sound to an even wider audience. Immediately after wrapping that tour.

Her mixes and original tracks have recently been featured on Power 106's "Power Tools" show, Groove Radio, ibreaks.co.uk, and many of her original productions are currently being caned by some of the top djs and producers from around the world.
Stay tuned, keep it locked, for the best sounds are yet to come from the little beauty with the big beats!

KRAIG Breaks/House / Twisted / Cargo/ www.twisted.ca / Vancouver

Funky - That best describes the style of music Kraig loves to play.

Although he is most passionate about the sound of Breakbeats, Kraig can also be found dropping the sweet sounds of Soul, Funk and vocal House accompanied by some live percussion via his drum machine.

Over the last 4 years, he's had the opportunity to play alongside some of the best in Breakbeat and Funk: Krafty Kuts, The Freestylers, Atomic Hooligan, A. Skillz, The Bassbin Twins, Fort Knox Five, The DrumAttic Twins, Kid Kenobi, Aquasky, Dig-Dug, Big League Chu, Czech, DJ Fixx, Sharaz, Tony Faline, Matt the Alien, Myagi and the Smalltown DJs to name a few.

If funky groovin' beats is what you enjoy dancing to, Kraig will surely have something in his crate to keep you moving!

Saw Christian Smith 2003 @ WMC at a pool party and he rocked it. Too good.

Wonder if Smith & Selway would still fly as a show?

It's a shame that we can't take half the risk we want to on certain talent because as awesome as they are, those not in the know won't come. Which means loosing cash which is not a good thing. :-p
