A couple of the family members say what's on their minds
Dr Phil talks to them
A couple of the family members cry
Dr Phils wife randomly butts in ( sometimes it's the son! ) and gives her opinion/advice.
Dr Phil closes the show and gives the punch line of the show ( the doctor feelgood type phrase ). Dr Phil holds his wifes hand

You guys obviously don't actually watch the show. He preaches nothing but COMMON SENSE and ACCOUNTABILITY for ones actions - something America seems to be lacking. That's why it seems so odd that he has his own show, because it's not like he's giving people any advice they couldn't figure out if they'd just get their heads out of their asses. But I guess Americans need to be hand held allllllllllll the way through life. Poor babies.
Dr. Phil is not the problem, it's the people that actually need his help. LOL.

That's exactly what pisses me off about it. He's supposedly a psychotherapist, but he doesn't do any psychotherapy at all. Why do those people need a "doctor" to tell them a bunch of crap like that? They're just really really mild problems of living that anyone with a bit of sense can solve. For once I'd like to see him take on a paranoid schizophrenic, an arachnophobe, a guy who doesn't realize he has a left hand and a guy who thinks he's george washington. Then *maybe* that would be more interesting.
But no.. it's all trivial couples problems like "oh my husband doesn't find me attractive anymore" (and guess what, she really was ugly!), because it draws that dumb housewife audience and gives them something to do between Jerry Springer and Days of our lives

But that wouldn't be good for ratings.
I personally love watching people make fools of themselves on national t.v. How these people aren't embarrassed is beyond me. Hahahahaha.
