Saying Goodbye

Saying goodbye to friends or family for a period of time is definatly a weird feeling.
This september, I have both too do with friends all gone to school and family that has been in the country for a year now leaving, probably the last time I will ever see them.

Curious tho what you all think, altho the goodbyes are sad, its defintly opening many many new doors, so altho it sucks i am excited about the changes

so goodbyes, one of the best ways to change/turn/experience something new around your life? or maybe even a complete turning point?

I am forced to it all the time and it's never easy.

Luckily I've learned how to.

Just never think of it as the last time you'll see them.

Yeah I have moved plenty too and by now I have a very strong sense of detachement from people and places in general.

It's a very good and bad thing; I don't let myself get tied down to wherever I may be located and I am prepared to leave tomorrow if necessary but at the same time it mentally prevents me from ever building strong ties with the local people

I think the best philosophy to operate under is trying to make the most out of everything and every place you are!

I don't let myself get tied down and do sometimes feel detached from places, people and things, but I try and still make good relationships and have good friends. Doesn't change the fact I've never had a normal relationship with a girl... At least normal in the boyfriend girlfriend sense

Its more tough to be on the receiving end; when someone says bbye and leaves and you know you will not see them for like months/years..

My sis left for further studies to UK; she wont be back for full one year.. it was tough when she bid farewell and hopped on to waiting car; i stood and watched the car drive away untill out of sight.

How old are you? 18?

Pretty much the same thing is happening over here, they've all left or are going to college. No more high school, and I'm thrown into the 'real' world.

YES, it does suck. But at the same time, the potential for growth, for new friends, new experiences... greatly outweighs the bad.

So while I miss my old friends who've moved away to college, the army, or just far away, and how easy it was ... it feels like I am a brand new person, with so much to see, and so much to do.

My point is: it's perfectly normal to be sad about this, but don't dwell on that. Focus on how great it's going to be and you'll be much happier. Pretty soon it won't suck at all, and you'll be having a great time.

It's definitely a turning point that you should embrace.
