but how do the headphones work. Does one turntable play in one earphone and the other turntable play in the other?
or does the song on the second turntable play in ur earphones, and u hav to match the beats with the song thats playing on the main speakers.
Im confused

I'm no expert, but... you plug the headphones into the mixer, and you can play whichever TTs you want, like just the first one, or the 2nd, or both at the same time, and I think most of the mixers blend the sounds on both ears. So either you can beatmatch with both of them playing in the headphones, or you can put them on one-ear only with one song in the headphones, and beatmatch with your other listening to whats playing live.
Hope that helps..

okay
so... u plug headphones to ur mixer
now
u can choose if u wanna hear TT 1, or TT 2, and in most mixers (nowadayz), u can have both tunes in the headphones
but i prefer u should just put one in ur headphones and then get ur ear trained.. cause there might come a day when u will DJ at a club that dosen't allow 2 channels in da headphones, and then ur in trouble
just my 2 cents

It's not that they wouldn't allow, its that they cheap out and buy a crappy mixer, and you have to mix with it.
i have never mixed on a mixer that only allowed me to cue one or the other TT and not both
most mixers have a cue selector, and most allow your to hear one or the other or both, and some even have a little fader to allow you to even set how much of the cue and how much of the main out you want to hear
and i've never heard of a club getting cheap on sound equipment
even the shittiest of clubs and raves i've been to had a decent mixer and TTs
