Super-quick review:
The night started off somewhat shaky when we found out that Bassbin Twins wasn't coming. And it didn't help much that Evan G and Flipside decided to start off a Breaks night with Electro and House. But still, Flipside played some awesome tunes, and I knew that Breaks were coming soon, so I didn't mind it too much.
Big League Chu brought a sick Breaks track from the very get-go. From there on it was a really solid dark and dirty Breaks set from him. I enjoyed it immensely - it was exactly what I came out to Footwork for. P.S. At 1:50am, he dropped an abolutely sick track - the whole crowd went mental - it had this hook with like bells or those water-glasses as the main synth. IT WAS OUT OF THIS WORLD. Can anyone ID? Pretty please?
ROBB G. Wow. This guy certainly knows how to rock a crowd. With a style that's similiar to Jelo's, he was mixing in Breaks, Techno, and hard-hitting House into one delicious set. Memorable tracks are the Da Funk remix, and the Smooth Criminal remix. TUNAGE.
The Jelo & Robb G back-to-back period was insanity too. Both of them were dropping tracks that had the room pounding with energy. Fuckin unbelievable.
In general, with every visit, I like Footwork more and more. The crowd is awesome - no snobbiness, pushiness, and barely any sketchiness. Just in general everyone was super friendly. And I still love those floors. Perfect surface for dancing hard and fast. Bartending is nice and quick too. As usual, it got ridiculously hot, but it was something worth overlooking. That club has the potential to become my favourite venue in TO.
P.S. Nice meeting voodoochild, tamiko, and Xavier. As well as seeing Tony and Brant again. I was introduced to at least a dozen other people, but I still don't know who they were, heh.
