How's this for a pure beginner setup?

CDJs

The brands aren't bad and to me it loos like a decent setup for a beginner like me. It will not be too big of a loss if I decide that DJing isn't for me

Let me offer this: don't go so cheap that you end up with gear that you are unable to use from the standpoint of actually enjoying yourself. Sure, there's no need to drop several grand on Pio CDJ1000s only to find out that 1.) you don't like DJing or 2.) you simply can't DJ even with a lot of practice.

Spend enough that you get good, reliable equipment that you can actually learn on with some ease. Also, if you have good equipment and suck, you are still able to sell it later and recoup some of your initial investment.

With that in mind, you can't go wrong with Pioneer CDJ200s from what I understand. Hell, I have the cheap Numark TT1625 turntables, and they've been spot on for me for nearly a year now.

Edit: I have Stanton phones and the cheap Numark mixer. Again, both have performed flawlessly. I'd do a double take on the CD players, though.

I would NOT suggest those CD players. They are cheap but they are also very cheaply made. Feel cheap and just crappy quality. I have tried them before, I wouldnt buy them.

I love the way inferior product desciptions include such bullshit as:

No other portable CD player in its price range has the quality and features of the Stanton S-250. The control panel and LED screen are toward the front of the unit, just where a DJ needs them.

I mean - it's hardly groundbreaking is it? It'd be worth mentioning only if every other products had been designed with the display panel on the underside of the unit...........

Why anyone would buy any of that shit is beyond me. The amount of cheap budget DJ equipment flooding the market is huge.

You've all pretty much said everything that was on my mind. Crap setup.. I would never touch that equipment. Well, maybe for throwing it in a bonfire, but thats all.

LMFAO @ CDJ Description!

Secondly, mixing on those would be possible, but very difficult espesh if you don't know what your doing.

I always belive you should start mixing on vinyl first. You can relate physically to what your doing to the music, hands on.

It's not essential, but I reckon it is benificial.

I'd aim for some CDJ's with a platter at least.

Pioneer CDJ500 or 1000 or 200, etc.

Go second hand too, since it will not cost you all that much for a pair of CDJ500's. I got a pair for £250.
