Dj Software Reviews - A good read to kill some time

http://arstechnica.com/reviews/apps/dj-software.ars

Neat to browse through if you have some time.

LOL! So true

Thought this was kind of interesting. Might be fun to play with some of the demo software. Some of the software looks pretty advanced...(for software)

[edit: how many times can I say software in one post ^^ ]

Rather strange they didn't review Ableton Live, but a decent article nonetheless!

haha, i remember when i was thinking about getting into djing a few years ago, and I downloaded these programs to "try it out."

although it was fun to play around with at home, it's not very accurate in capturing the feel and fun of djing.
As MikeyN said, the only way to make dj software more fun is with the use of controller or maybe even the use of programs like Torq or Ableton Live where its possible to do spontanious mash ups, remixes, etc.

overall enjoyable read tho. thanks for the link.

When you use Traktor for a while, Keyboard shortcuts become a way of life.

'Nuff said.

But yeah, a Controller *does* make things easier :P

this thread shouldve been posted when TA started....thats how useless it is

as for software, unless u have a controller, fuck off with ur computer mixing.

and if u want to "dj" with a pc, u MUST use final scratch, serato or better yet, the new torq by m-audio

or just own everyone with ableton and a MIDI controller

End of the discussion
