what year/model passat.

im a volkswagen nerd and may be able to give you some help/advice. Im on my 3rd jetta (my first was a black 96 2.0, 2nd 97 blue vr6, 3rd 97 black vr6)

Or you can cruise over to vwvortex.com and see what you can come up with there.

German cars are a pain because unless you are knowledgeable and willing to do work/find parts yourself they can get pricey.

but they are soooo much better looking and higher quality than their japanese and US counterparts....

that is BS.

my ex boyfriend has a 92 lexus with 200k miles on it and that thing runs smoother than my car ever has.

i have a 99 passat 4 cyl turbo.

they are over-engineered pieces of crap.

my next car is a lexus for sure.

Its well known that VW's arent good when it comes to Automatic transmissions. They are the best in terms of Manuals though.

And.. transmissions arent ship anyways. My friend's AUDI had a transmission problem just recently too. So yeah.. if you buy VW or AUDI or BMW's ( they are all the same by the way ) Get the Manuals.

chevy camaro. I guess it might have been more expensive. Everything for my car is more expensive.... Tires, wipers, you name it, there are specialized camaro parts that are a shit load more..

The next car that I am buying will be so standard. I want a car that uses universal parts.

i was having problems with the lower gears ...it's an automatic, but when i would accelerate (between 10 and 30 mph) it was having a hard time kicking into gear. they replaced a coil and he said that it was running on 3 cyl sometimes, probably causing the shaking, but he still thinks there's a transmission problem.

so true.

my ex-ex (lol) boyfriend has a benz and he had more problems with his brand new SL than i had ever seen with a new car. ran smooth, very powerful, but all the little trinkets (windows, buttons, etc...) kept breaking. he used the lemon law and what did he do? he goes and gets the new CLS 500. so far no problems, and it's a beautiful car, but i wouldn't get one i don't think.

i used to diss lexus and be like, "oh it's japanese, bla bla bla...real luxury is german" clearly, i had no idea what i was talking about.
