I just ordereed 2 pioneer cdj1000mk3's and a djm800!!!
I'm not tryin to brag or anything, but i'm pumped!!! i got the cdj's "open box" for 925 a piece and the djm for 1300. i got em at agiprodj.com for a grand total of 3150 . i know that sounds like a lot, but i dj for a living so i'll make that money back and then some for sure...
i've been using vinyl and serato and i have never used a cdj or the djm mixer... i have watched every demo video i could find though. i bet its gonna take a while to master w/ all those bells and whistles...
i'd appreciate any heads up or advice from anyone who is familiar w/ this equipment...
thanks
bisco
ps. if you use serato, are the id tags from serato displayed on the cdj's and can you save cue points/loops from songs playing from serato through your cdj's (hope that makes sense)

No, the ID3 tags won't show on the CDJ. How could they? The songs are on the computer, not the control CD. And no, you have to set the SSL cue points and loops in SSL with the keyboard/mouse, and those will be stored within the file(s). But you can still use the Cue button and loops on the CDJ, but that's on a song by song basis.

nice! i'd like that too! altho i'd switch the djm-800 to a xone:92 rotary. but why are you getting cdjs to use with serato? isn't that kind of a waste? i mean, you can do the same stuff with your TTs and serato, so why spend almost 2 grand on cdjs then.

well i thought a lot of people used cdj's with serato... i could always put music on cd's if i dont like it. i also loved the demo videos and how they integrated ableton w/ the cdj and djm. i would love to start djing with ableton eventually... i have a lot of learning/practicing to do before i do it in front of a crowd (ableton and cdj's). i just found out the master tempo doesnt work in serato either so i'll have to use the harmonic effect on the djm to keep my songs in the right key if i use big pitch shifts. i really like serato and keeping my songs organized and not having to switch records and all that... i hope i dont have to get rid of it
