Zidane's Headbutt in M6 France

C’est la question qui a intrigué les rédactions. Zidane allait-il dire autre chose que ce qu’il a dit après le Mondial pour justifier son coup de tête ? Le quatrième arbitre espagnol, Luis Medina Cantalejo, allait-il confirmer qu’il avait vu les images du coup de boule le plus célèbre du monde sur son écran de contrôle ? Le document de Frédéric Martin et Frank Lepagnol ne sera pas révolutionnaire puisque ni Zidane, ni Materazzi, ni Luis Medina Cantalejo ne se sont prêtés aux questions de cette émission.

Malgré tout, pour le grand public, ce programme a l’intérêt de démontrer l’un des mystères de ce match. Comment l’arbitre du match M.Elizondo a-t-il pu donner un carton rouge pour un geste que ni lui, ni ses deux juges assistants n’ont vu ? Interrogé dans ce documentaire, l’arbitre argentin réaffirme ne pas avoir vu Zidane frapper son adversaire. Du coup, sans le quatrième arbitre, Zidane aurait pu finir le match impunément. Or, ce fameux quatrième arbitre a-t-il vu en direct l’action ou s’est-il informé grâce à la retransmission du geste au ralenti sur son écran de contrôle ? Selon ce document, M6 marche dans la voie tracée dès le soir du match par les journalistes présents au stade olympique de Berlin et par Raymond Domenech : « On a inventé l’arbitrage vidéo. »

La première partie du magazine montre que Zinédine Zidane a bien failli passer au travers des mailles du filet. Et comment son geste, qui a échappé aux quatre paires d’yeux des arbitres, a manqué de peu de ne pas être filmé lors de ce France-Italie. S’il n’avait pas été filmé, Zidane n’aurait pas été expulsé. CQFD. Secret d’Actualité nous présente donc un aspect non connu de cette histoire. Un aspect que l’on retiendra plus que les élucubrations sur le pourquoi du comment d’un geste que le principal intéressé ne souhaite plus commenter, espérant sans y croire qu’un jour on ne parlera ni ne chantera plus son trop célèbre coup de boule…

I don't understand anything about this because I can't speak french, Now the only one's who's going to understand this is you and Fast, and perhaps RapidFire who's a Zidane fanboy

This is just another bullshit report about the headbutt. From what I understand , they are going to prove that if there were no video images that night , Zidane would have never been sent off cause none of the 4 referees saw it.

But the fact remains that Zidane, as much I love him as a player, deserved to be sent off for what he did. And if there had been no video, he might not have been red carded and France would have potentially had an unfair advantage in the PKs.

Just let it die.

Hey he was playing the game. That means if the referee can't see you, it didn't happen. Same thing as the in/famous "hand of god." Soccer is not supposed to be checked by live recording, just the referee's. If he got kicked out because of that, then it shouldn't have happened.

And yes, freaking Italy beat France, nothing changes that now, but still the argument is relevant as to whether there should be other authority in the game besides the 4 referees.
