TONS of DJs use Macs for Ableton.

a Macbook will do just fine.

i run ableton side by side with serato on a G4 powerbook and its smooth as butter. the new macbooks far outperform the G4 line, so you should be fine with any of them. you might wanna bump the ram up to a gig.

i'm planning on buying a macbook pro as soon they so to the core 2 duo (true 64bit) and throw a firewire 800 port on it. till then i cant give up on my G4.
