As some of you may have seen, I can’t stop posting here and truth be told I miss DJing like crazy.
Basically settled in to a 9 to 5 which is okay, I’m not a stranger to work and don’t have any issues with it in its self but am having a real tough time adjusting to the fact that this is all I am and all that I do for the rest of society.
It is pretty grim when you wake up in the morning and realise that you are in the rat race like everybody else. The politics of work can be just as bad if not worse than the DJ world. Working for a corporate I have discovered is full of big fish in small ponds and each one thinks they are more important than the next.
I have just about had it with this lifestyle and have decided that I am not content with this style of life.
I come home in the evening; feel too tired to do anything useful. My wife is pretty much in the same way due to University and the quality of life if anything has gone down for both of us. At least if I was bubbly I could look after her a bit better.
I get to write some music at the weekends but it’s not the same as being able to sit down with it in the middle of the day when ever I want.
Basically it’s official. Nem is back
Will start playing gigs here and there and will build it up again so that I can quit my job as soon as I see that I am making enough from DJing to live comfortably.
I think at the end of all this, I realised that I needed a holiday not retirement from being a DJ.
It’s so deeply rooted in my soul that I might as well accept it. There may come a time when I am too old to do it, in which case I will have to take it as it comes but I have plenty of time left and intend to use it as well as I can.
Welcome back i dunno what we would have done without u new

welcome back buddy...they say adulthood is all about defining yourself through what you are DOING rather than who you are...i think this is why DJ'ing makes us feel like children in a toystore again because the love for the music and the art is so deeply rooted in who we are rather than what we do at the moment. cheers

Well that's a cool surprise!
And you're lucky, from the way you've described where you're at, you've basically found what you love to do in life. Very few people get to do that, or find out what 'that' is
Congrats mate, and i look forward to your useful posts on here, helping both the experienced and the noobs alike
