I loved it, bought the DVD when it came out...

Too bad so many people didn't like the film, I think its just too much of a 'deep' movie that many action movie goers can't stand..

Its amazing the similarities of this movie to 2001, when it came out all the right people praised that movie, but many movie goers didn't get what it was about...

Fuck it, I loved the movie and thats all that matters to me

Nice movie. Id seen the movie on Screener DVD before it even came in the Theaters (Holland is a couple of months behind USA)., so I saw it on my computer .

The "advanced mechas" in the end are just making that bullshit up about the 'DNA pathways', people are like "THAT DNA PATHWAY STUFF IS BULLSHIT!' of course it is, the robots just said that so David could understand. They just made him 'dream' the mother and Teddy the same way he dreamed the apartment! They didn't actually resurrect the mother.

And people bitch, "Oh....how can David run SO LONG without charging up? That powersource is too unbelievable!"
Having a robot with human emotions is so technologically advanced, that having the bitch run should be a piece of cake!!!!

There are NOT VERY MANY FLAWS IN THE MOVIE!!! Everyone says there is, but there is not!

havent seen it yet..it was on cinemas but didnt go to see it. maybe ill rent the casette..

well.. i liked the movie only the end is too much spielberg and the kubric element is swept away.. but still a nice movie to see!

The first hour or so of AI was interesting. I think they portrayed the bizare dynamic of having arobot replace a lost family member quite well. Also I think the kid is a great actor, he played the role perfectly. But the rest of the film, in my mind, just didn't live up to the first hour. The whole end with the evolved mechas just didn't work for me. I understnad the point, but you can't let a point ruin the flow/cogency of the entire film - besides I think they could have achieved one without compromising the other. Just seemed to come across as a really cheap "shortcut" plot device.

BTW: My favourite movie of 2001 was FIght CLub (or was that 2000? ) a whatever that was a great movie.
