Effects in your set

Hey all i am pretty new to the Trance Addict forums. I am currently mixing house/electro on my CDJs and i am soon to move onto trance as it is my favourtite genre of music. I am interesting to know what effects can i incorporate into my trance mix's. At the moment i can put some cool effects into my House sets like looping, using reverse switch on vocals etc. How ever i don't think i could so this on trance as it is a totaly different genre of music and can't be mashed up as much as house/electro. I am interested in what effects you put in your sets. Do you drop loops in etc? If so how do u create your loops? Do you just get a music chopping program and cut the songs vocals and beats up etc?

Cheers DSILVR

I use a Filter (Bass, Mid, Highs) that's pretty much it.

Filter, maybe a flange or two, an echo, a delay, that's about it for straight up trance.

Echo, delay, 6 different filters, fuzz, jet, flange, and wah all get a fair amount of use from me

Yeah FX need to be pretty subtle in trance Main ones I use include phaser, flanger, echo, transform, wah, filter & not forgetting reverse delay (sounds like the track is playing backwards when it's still playing forwards. I use it for a couple of beats at the end of a phrase).

Some none FX tricks I use for trance include jamming on the reverse switch & the old fave the spinback

Allied Nations - I'm really crap at loops, they jump all over the place Do you do them on the fly or have them set up on CDJ1000 hot loops?

I got 1000s and i just do them on the fly with the yellow bottons. Whats hot loops? Lol mabye i haven't discovered all my features on the CDJs are you talking about those ABC bottons on the side?

If the song fits well enough, I'll sometimes tease it into the live track a little bit. Look for what song I wanna play after the cued track. Look for the song I might wanna play after that song. Have a few sips of my beer. And of course, dance.
