Stepping up from FL Studio

Hey guys, I realise someone has probably asked before but I figured I'd start my own thread seeing as I haven't done that too often

For however long I've been producing, I've been using FL Studio along with my VSTs and samples to do all my stuff, all the while amassing a small collection of hardware synths, a nice mixer and a nice midi keyboard. Now FL has been good to me, but its hardware support from what I gather is somewhat lacking.

Are there any hosts out there which will allow me to produce in a similar style to FL (write my patterns and put them together in a play list) while being able to easily use my hardware? I have a ReMOTE SL61 so being able to use all the assignable controls would be REALLY nice.

Cheers,
Strat.

ableton live is pretty similar to FL in the way you make a bunch of loops then arrange them in arrangement mode. i dunno if its support for external gear is any better though.

you culd rewire fruity into cubase or sumthin, so u culd keep using it for the percusssion and things but use cubase for the hardware support.

The phrase "from what I gather" makes me wonder: What are things that are limiting you right now in your working process?

I work with fruity with hardware, and I can imagine that someone might want to switch if they need to do certain things. But if you don't need to do those, why bother?
