I just went to a newly opened Guitar Center today and starting messing around with some sequencers and grooveboxes they had on display. I am into techno/trance and recently bought a Yamaha synth and keyboard amp. I really like the Korg EMX-1 and ESX-1 sequencers (ESX-1 is a sampler too) they had. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with these that could recommend one over the other. I am in the beginning stages so I don't need anything too advanced. I just paid off all my credit card debt, but they are offering 18 months interest free and for $500 I could easily fit $50/month payment into my budget by not eating out as much. Any comments? I am looking ideally for a something that will help me w/ creating trance music. Thanks
PS - Also one guy recommended the Korg Micro X instead of the EMX-1 or ESX-1, but I don't know if I could as easily loop sounds, etc. as with the Electribes. Any recommendations. And lastly, what is a good "beginner" set of vinyl turntables to go with?
