Ok, I'll admit, I'm standing in front of my CDJ's feeling like an absolute fool - and kinda thing I should just ask my 8 year old brother if he can show me what to do - but I can't work out the memory section of the CDJ's at all.

The manual isn't really condusive to letting you know what to do in order to store the cue point, and then come back to it, knowing what tune it's from (I guess I'm talking Hot-Cue points here, rather than starting points).

Is there anywhere/anyone that has the patience to give me an idiots guide on how I set the point to memory, then how i recall it? Following the suggestions in the manual just doesn't do it for me.

Oh, and can someone else tell me why/how to change the fact that one of my 1000's autoplays (i stick in the CD, it starts playing, and will carry on playing through all the tracks) and the other one, I need to press play in order to start it. Sounds odd - but the fact one auto plays, and the other doesn't can get quite annoying.

And lastly... why do some MP3's show the peak wave data while they're playing, yet others don't register it. It doesn't seem to be a CBR/VBR thing, as both tend to do it, or don't do it. I know that MP3's don't pre-read like wav's - but I'd like to know why some do and some don't.

I'm using the Mk111's, and I updated the firmware - and all these issues still remain.

on my laptop at school but there is a button somewhere on the top left that says "Auto Cue ----" hold down that button to enable auto cue(when you pop in a CD it will make a cue for you).

or hold it down to release it.

about the cue points, you can save 3 hot cue's per CD that can be saved to internal memory or your memory card. which one did you want to do it to?

I think I've got Auto-Cue turned on - or don't I, and that's what's not (and is) auto-playing the CD? Man, I feel 40 years old...

As for the Hot-Cues, I thought I was able to set a whole load for each CD, so I could jump around from track to track if I wanted to - or even have 10 different cues set for each track on the CD. Is that not correct?

Or when you said 'per CD' - are you assuming there's only one tune on the CD - as in my case, I tend to have 10 or 20 on each.

If cd auto-plays then you have auto cue turned off.. Just hold the button autocue left on the top if you want to change the option.

If you want to save cue points, set cue point and press memory button. Then you can move left and right betwen cues with < > call buttons.

I think I get what this fella's on about.

I've only had my CDJ's for a couple of months, so sorry if this is wrong (man I'd be embarrassed) but here goes:

For each track on the CD you play, you'll see a number on the display. So, if you have 10 tracks, you'll see the numbers 1-10. Find a cue point on a track (let's say it's track 7) and then press 'Memory'. Number 7 will now have a line underneath it - to show it's got a CUE saved. However, you don't have to leave it at that. Say there's another part of the track (20 secs in for example) that you want to set to get to - find that point, and set the cue for there - you'll see another red mark will be above the green line at the bottom of the display (the line then gets smaller from left to right as you play through the tune). This way, you can have multiple cue points for each track on the CD (there'll be loads of red marks above the green line to show this).

You can save loads of these cue points to the one track, and then use the 'Call' button to get from track to track and from cue point to cue point.

As to HOT-CUE's - you get three of them for the entire CD - not for each track. So, you can set the three hot cues - and update them throughout the CD as you use it - and those three hot cues will still be active the next time you stick in the CD (though it will take a second or two to read the Hot-Cue point the first time you press it).

So, in summary - you can set as many Cue points in a track that you like, and use the Call button to get to each one, but they're not instant like the Hot Cue - (well, the last one you activated is - but you can't instantly activate number 10 when you're on number 3 unless it's set as a hot cue).

And, you can set 3 Hot-Cues per disc (Green for a cue, yellow for a loop) update them as you wish, and the last three you set will be retained the next time you stick in the CD.

This '3 Hot Cues to a disc' malarky is a good reason not to load the CD up with 100 tunes. Even if you have 10 folders with 10 tracks each, if you set a Hot Cue in 'Folder 1' and are currently playing from Folder 2 - when you press that Hot Cue button, it'll just say something like "HOT CUE FOLDER 01" to let you know you have to be in that folder to activate it.

Good luck with it all, I hope this was accurate! I'll check on my CDJ's when I get home, just to be sure, but if anyone wants to correct this, please do!!

CDJ1000s. Whats in the box? Essentially I need to know wether you get the digital cable in order to hook up to the DJM800 digitally, or wether that has to be purchased separately?

Any info will be good.

digital cables are not included in the box...

its the power supply, control cable, cdj, RCA cable, manual and thats it

Whats the cable called? There must be a name for it, like you get XLR, RCA etc.

which cable? digital cables? there are many types but the ones that you can run from your cdjs to the djm800 are SPDIF coaxial

the power supply is actually attached to the cdj. it's one thing i don't like about the denon's.
