any advice on using macs for music things.. software suggestions etc..

I fell in love with mine the moment I got on it. Just how easy it is to use. I really would not be the one to ask about what you can do with it though. I record my live mixes and browse the internet with it pretty much. When it comes to video and audio, they are suppose to be the top dogs. I think you will love it if you end up getting one!

Cool. Good luck at the hearing. By the way I get my tunes from download sites like Beatport, Audiojelly, Trackitdown, and sites like that. Always checking new releases. All of those tracks besides one have been released in the last few weeks. That may be why you have not heard of them.

hey man, I'm listening to your mix right now, and about halfway through it, I really like it. The first track sounds really tinny though, is that just the way the song is or did you kill the lows? hah, its funny cause your mix sounds like something I would do myself!

. To answer your questions in my thread, I recorded with 2 cdj200s and a djm400. I really have only been spinning for a month, I just have been practicing a lot. A background in DDR also helps understand dance music a little better too haha.

so do you mix mp3's?

what do you use to do your mixing?

I like the progression in the mix i've heard the track at 30 minutes before, and it's a nice track

nice track at 46:45.. I find the kick to clicky though (i know some people that like clicky kicks.. but clicks in kicks and sharp snares bother my ears) (it gets a little less click as the track progresses though but picks up again) track is good click ruins it for me

track at 52 is really loud.. i find the track sorta bland though it sounds badly meshed for a trance track.. it might work as a horn song.. but the kick is way off (sound subpar - uberfill)

I like your track at 105 as well.. reminds me a bit of holding onto nothing.

mix overall is alright only one audio glitch during my least like track...

3 or so good tracks imo in the mix... (to my taste)

mix was alright.. I look forward to hearing any future mixes you may do. (perhaps next time i'll be trying to convert an mp3 to m4a

transitions were fairly seemless

something I like with track listsings is also cue listings.. that way I can find the track title just by knowing where I am in the mix.. rather than counting tracks.. which I am about to do to find the names of the ones i like.

"last track is ok as well" sorta a blend of the high supersaw with the benasi bass buzz.

Well thank you for the reveiw. I really do appreciate you going thru what you did to listen to the mix . I am mixing off cd decks, and yes they are all 320 mp3's. There were probally 2 tracks I would of pulled out of the mix, if I could of. It was not a promo cd, so I said what the hell and just left it how it was instead of remixing it over. I really never pre plan my mixes so there are always one or two tracks I wish I would of not mixed after a set. I guess that is why they say no set is perfect, ya know?

Thanks again, and enjoy your Mac! Your the best,

Mike

The first track I killed the lows in, because I wanted to sort of try to build. Thats why the second track comes in with the lows blarring, and gives it alot of energy. Thats what I was shooting for, and pulled it off. I was very happy with that part of the mix. DDR?? Not quite sure what that is. Would you mind explaining? And yes, we do have the same tatse. We should get together and do a mix together. Ya never know, we may end up being the next Sasha and Digweed LOL.
