Went into this show not knowing what to expect at all...
...and was greeted by a 300 or so pound aboriginal australlian nearly nude on the stage, i believe covered in mud, or something else turning him brown and watching him go nuts on a didgeridoo, and that wasn't even the headliner.
Xavier Rudd was one of the more unique shows I've ever seen. It is predominantly one person, surrounded by drums, didgeridoo's, guitars, and other percussion instruments.
He played a blend of certain tunes sounding like Ben Harper type folk rock, then would switch to strictly instrumental tribal like tunes, with mostly drums and bass, and a deep bass didgeridoo overtop of it. Rachel was not kidding when she said it could have been chus and ceballos, the quality of the sounds coming from all the instruments, being played simultaneously by one person was pretty incredible.
