This is going to be a somewhat mixed and quick review Julius and I hope you don't take my feedback in a wrong way or anything like that.
First id like to say your intro was SICKKK...Gui Boratto is awesome, I recently discovered him and he's a sick producer..this song I knew for a while and i LOOOOOVVVEEE it (you'll hear from me about it more either on msn or PM ),
as a Holden fan i appreciate you still mixing in some of his stuff and Darkest Star is another testament to Holden's abilities. I loved it.
My complaint for both of these however is that they are too short (Arquipelago especially...the meat of the track is missing)...
now the next track is good, but for me and my personal tastes it all starts going down with the very questionable vocals from the dude singing "I'll do anything to be in a boy band"...
Actually, from "Pop Idle" all the way through "I Wish I loved You", i find that i didn't enjoy myself at all (with the exception of Chable's awesome Slow it Down), but then again that's just my personal taste..
Things pick up again with Petter and Juergens but then slowly plummet down ...I feel that both Tresher and Extrawelt (both of whom I'm a huge fan of) and have so many productions that are superior to the ones you've chosen. I'm not a crazy Trent fan but I also think he has better stuff than "Always Something Better".
Overall man, it was a good effort and it sounded like you really enjoyed yourself. My biggest advice to you is don't try to put in so many styles into one set, make it flow more and even though you've been taking it easy with loops/samples etc. i still find that you over-use them at some points (even in the intro...neat trick but doesn't need to be that long, same goes for the outro...It was actually hard for me to listen to Stammgast for some reason, to much emphasis on the dirty elements I think) and nearly and hour and a half for a promo set is a bit too long in my opinion..
Keep working at it Jules!!
Cheers for sharing
My favorite picks IN ORDER:
1) Arquipelago
2) Darkest Star
3) Slow it Down
4) Untight
