Re: Surround sound systems and CDJ's
Sure, that will work just fine.

Odd question but i've been hinted at that I will FINALLY be getting some CDJ's for christmas or my birthday (new years eve). Unfortunately getting any kind of sound system for them right now is a bit out of the question as wife and I went on an early christmas shopping binge and dried up funds (at least it's out of the way).
Anyway. I was wondering if it is in any way possible to hook up CDJs/Mixer up to a regural 5.1 style surround sound system. |

Uhm. Thanks for the fast and in-depth response heheh. Was thinking more along the lines of the how-to's of it all, whether i will need anything special or jack adaptors or anything of the like.

Well no, just a stereo RCA cable assuming you don't have a high end mixer which will have XLR outs. In that case, you'll just need XLR to RCA adapters.

Shit, that simple? fucking eh! And I highly doubt it'll be a high-end mixer anyway. Cheers m8, thanks.

I'm assuming by surround sound system that he means he has a set of speakers and a receiver?
That logitech device would only work for using powered computer/multimedia speakers with a stereo input.

They just mean that playing non-surround encoded material (dolby pro-logic) on a surround system doesn't do anything with the rear and center speakers.
Big club systems are usually stereo, with multiple speaker stacks.
Still, for spinning at home, you can still use your home theater setup for stereo material.

Like everyone said, it's pretty easy to do. Just connect the outs on the mixer to the input on the back of the receiver with RCA cables. Heck, you can even use a standard home audio system if it's not ancient
