There are several things which produce the emotion, at least to my experience.
- A melody with a well chosen synth that plays the melody, combined with epic pads. This creates atmosphere, and the atmosphere can cause emotion. This can be heard for example in Mirco de Govia - Voller Sterne (Super 8 remix).
- Another thing which can cause emotion is something that is not used as often today as it has been earlier. That being a bassline that changes notes as the melody progresses, chosen in a way that makes it sound very uplifting. A nice example, albeit a bit cliche maybe, would be the much appreciated Robert Nickson - Spiral. There are also many tracks out there which have basslines that change while the melody DOESN'T change, but I can't come up with an example of such a track this fast. This can also cause a heavy emotion.
Ofcourse there are so many ways, but these are the ones I like the most. It's not just real Trancey tracks which can cause emotion for me. I remember hearing Rico Soarez - TV Dinner for the first time and it gave me this huge uplifting feeling, and it still does. I couldn't explain what or how the track does that to me though.
