thanks for the feedback guys

I had a blast playing this gig. By the time I hit the decks at 11:30, the place was in full swing. It was an ackward set up to say the least. The table was proped up on crates, and about 30 minutes into my set (i think during Eclipse - Continuum), the crowd was literally jumping which sent the table shifting to one side almost falling off the crates. lmao.

6:30 PM, tuesday evening, got the headphones tuned to your mix.....let's see where this takes me!

I'm definitely not well versed in this style of music, though I certainly do appreciate it. This first track has fantastic intrumentals events, deep layers throughout. Great intro track imo. Was that a tease around 3:45? Like it, smooth.

5:53 :: first mix starts to come in.............fantastic timing on the break. Now I'm doubting myself, was I too early on that mix? Who knows, its what I thought I heard. Solid first mix, I hate the first mix in my live sets. So much is riding on it and you nailed it!

Nice funky beats in this second track. It amazes me how something with a relatively slow BPM (compare it to my latest effort, you'll know what I mean...lol) still manages to move my body so much. This track is a great build up of energy, works well off the previous track. So curious to see where you take it with the next track, damn, I want to hear it already!

12:21 :: second mix, Great job on the EQing in this one! Fantastic amount of emphasis on the highs of the new track while maintaining the udnerlying groove of the previous song. Smoooooooooth mixing, definitely your best mix in the set. Perfect direction into this track, you are laying out a fantastic tapestry of sound so far. Haunting vocals, they seem familiar. Are they sampled from another track originally? @17:10, boo-urns to the weak crash at the end of the build, pity.

19:06 :: third mix, eqing was a little rough as you brought the mix in, but eh, nothing fundamentally wrong. If you are anything like me live, at this point i'm getting carried away in my own music and sometimes put a little too much emphasis in certain areas. Solid mix, beatmatching is spot on through out. Fantastic low end in this track!

25:18 :: I think the mix starts this early, if I am right, incredible mix! EQing is so smooth, they complement each other so well. At 26:30 the low end in the incoming track are a little too powerful. I think that is just how the song is, but sounds a little off. Great mix yet again. Great early build up in this track, leading into the dirtiest beats I have heard in a while. OH MY GOD, this track is full of insane build ups! WOW, 30:58 and I am moving little a kid on candy.........fantastic!

31:25 :: This mix comes in smooth.......I didn't really pick it up till 31:30, but I had to go back and check it out a few seconds earlier. Again, EQing is fantastic. Tracks come ever so slightly apart, but you're there to take care of it. Interesting shift in musical tone from the last track to this one. Deep and broody like now, interesting. Nice little break from the previous floor stormer.

38:54 :: A little sharp on the levels when you brought this one in, but I quickly forgot all about it. Great entrancing sound, the vocals are just taking me away. Was that you playing with the filter on the vocals? Nice!

So far the set has progressed well, however, I feel like the energy you were building in the first 25 minutes has slowly dissipated. hopefully it comes back in the last half hour...

46:10 :: Next mix is coming in now, slightly off at the start, next to nothing. EQing is perfect, I am amazed at the perfect EQing you are demonstrating throughout. I have a very hard time with the EQing when I am at a Club and everything is so loud. You do a great job handling it.

There we go, funky beats, groovy synths, the energy is picking up again. Maybe if I turn it up a little it will be even better. Yup, there we go. Just didn't have it loud enough.

Neat echo/reverb in the track. I am assuming that is in the track itself..........or is it you? Interesting clap pattern in the track. Experimental, but still smooth overall. Love this track!

52:40 :: Darn highs in the new track are giving away your slight adjustments. God I hate it when that happens. Not a bad mix overall, seemed a tad rushed though, your weakest mix so far.

Nice tribal feel to this track, energy is definitely building nicely again. Good work!

59:56 :: Another great mix, you haven't had any bad mixes throughout. I'm impressed to say the least! Nice and dirty Bassline is back, loving this. Woooo, smooth jazzy house feel to this track. Can't say I was expecting this AT ALL. Like it nonetheless. Damn it, I knew this voice sounded familiar, none other than Craig David. Guy has a great voice, no denying that.

65:44 :: Next track seems to be heavy on the bass. Sounds interesting, but distracts a little from the smoothness of the mix. Still a solid mix, good timing. Mix comes apart near the end, but I'm sure you don't need me to point that out. Ooops, I did. LOL.

Not too sure this track works too well with the previous track, seems like it was just thrown in at the last minute.

Overall: Fantastic Live set. Hard to believe this was done live, your EQing is near perfect, and except for the last transition all the transitions were near perfect as well. You've gone such a long way since your last mix I reviewed. You must be a perfectionist and you certainly know/enjoy your music. I highly recommend this track to anyone who is looking for a good dose of deep, dirty beats. This set certainly delivers the goods! Also, you do a great job of keeping the tracks short, yet the transitions rarely get boring.

Score: what, everything in life that is meaningful deserves a score, right? lol 9/10

Keep up the great work, looking forward to your next mix!

P.S. My god, how did this review get so long?

Thank you again for your great review..... I like the fact that you include your criticisms as well as positive remarks. I am going to try putting together a studio mix in the near future that will include less technical flaws than this live mix.

9/10? Wowza.
