*Official* TA Fantasy Baseball League on Yahoo! '07
I've got a fever, and the only cure is fantasy baseball.
Yes I know it's a while until Yahoo! finally puts up their game for this season, and it's even longer than that until April 1st. But I figure I'd get everyone excited, or at least thinking about, the fantasy baseball tradition that we have here.
A few discussion points:
1. The pitching format in our league will be changed this season. Probably to the Yahoo! default - everything else stays the same. Discuss any other changes you may want.
2. After going 1 or 2 last year I wonder how low A-Rod will fall on draft day, might be a steal depending on where you're drafting (chances are Butters will get him with the 3rd pick).
3. We saw a great amount of talented rookie pitchers putting their dominance on the game in '06. That being said, wonder who, if not all, will experience the famed "Sophomore Slump"*.

Eddie set up the league... somehow I got duped into being the MESSENGER:

the difference between the standard yahoo rules and our league was the # of SP and RP positions we had vs. regular P positions.
If we went w/ the yahoo rules we could use more middle relief pitchers and the such to more individualize our teams. I'm all for it.

also in the outfield we had RF, CF, and LF, although i think no matter how much I whine that that will get changed it three OF's.

well, what I meant from individualizing w/ the pitching was that with P slots as opposed to SP slots you could choose to play more relievers and strech inning guys to lower your ERA and WHIP, instead of going for Wins if you have a weaker bullpen, and the same vis versa, you could start more SP's and go for more Wins and strikeouts etc..b/c of the flexibility of the P spot
with the OF vs. the RF, LF, CF... it doesn't make as much of a difference I just think its annoying, although it did get me to learn the players more.
but no matter what we go with I'm happy just to be a part of the league

some key points:
-1 reliever position this year, instead of 2. the reliever position is very scarce this year, therefore notching saves will be a handicap for some teams if there are no relievers available.
-2 i forgot how it was last year, but i am down with 2 utility batters and 2 starting pitchers and 3 utility pitchers.

1. I think we need a change up top with a new commissioner. Commie has done well and much respect but 2 straight years as the head man has run it's course. Sorry buddy, you're still cool but it's just time. Hitler, Mussolini, Castro sometime....all dictators eventually come to their demise.
2. Yahoo default settings! Nuff said. Lf, CF, RF is as gay as Jeff Garcia! I really don't like it. Position scarcity in the OF is already gonna be a challenge this year. Yes...it's annoying.
3. Again, default yahoo settings! I like the pitching setup as they have it. I'm sneaky in that way.......
4. Maybe don't have the last week as the championship last week. Too many times the best players are being rested for the playoffs that particular week.
5. 2 DL spots.
6. If you want 2 Utility hitters ok but I'd prefer one. Not a deal breaker, I care like 3% on that topic.
