Saw it tonight after work. I went in not knowing what to expect, but I can definitely say I did not leave dissapointed. It's a great addition to the Rocky series, and it's leagues better than Rocky 5. Stallone in still in great shape, especially considering his age, and overall, I felt the atmosphere and whatnot to be alot closer to those of the 1st and 2nd movies.

Do we have to watch all the firsts movies to understand this one ?

I haven't seen Rocky VI yet, but based on seeing all the other ones I'll go out on a limb and say: no, you'll be fine watching this without having seen any of the others.

It's your typical "underdog pushes himself really hard and succeeds" type thing.

You're right, you could very well go and see it with the sole intention of seeing your typical "underdog pushes himself really hard and succeeds" plotline, but for the people who haven't seen the previous movies (ignoring 5 because it blew), theres alot of history between most of the characters that viewers won't catch, or the way they've grown and changed and the likes. Overall, having seen the previous movies (except 5.) will make it alot more satisfying and entertaining than it might otherwise be.
