Cool Overhaul my Pimpin' Ride...

MANY IMAGES AHEAAD! and yes mods, they are sfw.

so, i shall finally have a ride. thank the lord. well, hopefully i will sometime soon.

a little background check: i'm 18, live far from the city, and have no car. buses don't make it here, most cabs don't make it here. so basically i'm SOL 9/10 times when it comes to transport. missed a lot of clubnights, and a fair share of poontang. this should be resolved at once!

situation: my dad owns an autoshop. he is a car head, of course. studied in the Bosch tech school in Germany, also has a degree in electromechanical engineering. aaaanyways, he saw an episode of Overhaulin' on TV a couple weeks ago, where they took a 1967 Ford F-100 and did a really nice job on it.

pics from the Ford F-100:

(the Overhaulin' episode is called Pop Star Steal, in case you want it, you can find it on BitTorrent. it's actually Nick Lachey on it, getting his brother's truck overhauled.)

so, he then remembered, he had this thing thrown in the backyard of the shop:

this is a Ford F-1000. it's got a body very similar (almost exactly) like the '67 F-100 (only the '67 F-100 is a longbed, this one standard), but it was made in 1990. the engine is also different. it was the truck that was used for hauling crap around/transporting crap in another branch of the company. they fucked a part up, and never decided to fix it. it's technically not my dad's, but he acquired it for damn cheap. quuuuite a few years of sun, rain and everything else. rusted nicely in a couple spots. engine works great tho.

the idea is, to make it look like this:

so yah. this is my current project. working hard on it. currently taking it apart to have the whole thing powder coated, and every little part that needs work to get done. the idiots at the Ford representative in this country fucking LOST THEIR OWN PARTS catalog, so dad had to order one. that'll set us back for a bit however, hopefully, i can get this done.

current state of the thing:

wish me luck guys

paint is no problem at all. nor is bodywork. the only issues right now are where to get our parts, which shouldn't be an issue for much longer, and what to do with the interior and the soundsystem. the former is fucking wrecked, and the latter in nonexistant.

questions? comments? suggestions?

discuss
