EC is back on MuchMusic tonight at 9PM with a one hour holiday special. Who's gonna be watching? I read in the Toronto Sun that it'll be just be the mainstream music they played during the later years, before it went off the air (Justin Timberlake, Fergie etc..), which is disappointing to say the least.

yea... i just tuned in for 2min and saw it was top40 and turned it off.
EC in general was crap... and now with Top40, its even worse.
Instead of EC they should just have a one hour show of just EDM music videos and air special events like Sensation, Dance Valley, etc.... but one can only dream...

sure if Much wants to zero out on ratings.. there's no market for that here.. reality is that Top 40 is still what sells. Their formula in the early 90's was unique because it had a blend of various styles of music. oddly enuff if u take a look at the history of DJs that have played on that show it's quite an impressive list ..

bad lighting, terrible camera work, poor editing between the video and the set, and dancers who were busy doing their own thing that seemed to have nothing to do with the song being played (popping to Madonna's "Hung Up"?).
meh...EC may have been cheesy, but a lot of great DJs went through there and it was fun to watch...this was not.
