Are you happy with the current state of our civilization?
Where should we be?
Where are we now?
Did we take a step backward?
If so, when did we start to go backward?
Socially, ethically, morally, economically, scientifically... Are you happy with where we are?

Yes, I'm pleased with the way things are. Like always, the future is uncertain and could turn out shitty

As a whole, I find it hard to respond to those questions with a solid answer. There are so many different aspects to the world, each with it's own "current state" and "where should it be" aspect to it. There are some things that I'd love to see improved just like there are some things that I would like to see remain the same.
It's a tough choice, but I'd say we're about right in the middle. We need to stop and realize that what we do now will determine the outcome of civilization. It's either uphill or downhill from here; sadly, with the way much of society has been acting lately, I'm only seeing it going downhill.

America's going to crumble just like any empire, Global Warming is becoming an issue few people want to seriously address, good people are dying in a war that few people believe in and seems to have no end in sight, the rich keep getting richer, the poor keep getting poorer, other than that, yeah, it's all good.
