The Ashes 2006/07

With the start of the domestic season yesterday, thought it was fitting to post an Ashes thread.

So who was lucky enough to get tickets?

Adelaide test sold out in a matter of hours. That is pretty phenomenal for a test match.

I only managed to secure tickets for one day of the test, but spose that will have to do....

Do we still have that token pom floating around? Ian?

41 days to go, 41 days to go....

(Australia 5, England 0)

Test match cricket is about as exciting as shaving my testicles.

That's me in the corner, That's me in the spotlight, I'm Losing my religion, Trying to keep up with you ,And I don't know if I can do it, Oh no, I've said too much,I haven't said enough, I thought that I heard you laughing, I thought that I heard you sing, I think I thought I saw you try.

But that was just a dream, That was just a dream, But that was just a dream, Try, cry, why try? That was just a dream ,Just a dream, just a dream, Dream

lol. id prefer to watch cricket than harry potter.

i really hope they've got a kickass commentary crew lined up this season. i wanna hear all about seagulls, grass, the crowd, hilarious stories from the days of yore, the new gloves gilchrist is using, insane abuse of the magic pen, and possibly even an update on the australian uniform. 5 days of that and there'll be no semen left in me.

on the edge of my fucking seat!

AFL: the game for people with really short attention spans/ small brain capacity. The goals are set up so even if you miss and get a point, theres something to cheer about.

Rugby: a game for meatheads who like bashing into one another, and sometimes throw a ball around. oh, and they also know how to treat a lady.

Soccer: a game for dancers and ethnics. And dancing ethnics.

Tennis: is only ever still alive because parents get some idea about mooching off thier kids - hence forcing them into the "sport" at early age. The result: arrogant fucktards that cry when they cant get the ball over the net.

Basketball & Baseball: american shit, get the hell outta this country.

Cycling: fags who drink lattes and like wearing lycra.

Hockey: is only ever watched cos the female players are usually hotter than other womens teams by far.

gridiron: tactics and hard hitting 300 pound blokes smashing into each other. whats not to love?

cricket: only sport that requires a significant amount of alcohol to get people to go and watch.
