How do I setup an external sound module with Fruity?

I got a Roland M-DC1 (90's dance module) for crimbo and have just taken delivery today of all the cables needed to wire it up to my Audiophile 2496. But the problem I am having is how do I set it up to work in FL and are there any settings that I need to set up on the module itself to get it working?

Without looking like I anm trying to teach anybody here to suck eggs, I basically want to be able to trigger the module using midi and then include the resultant sound in the current project that I am working on. Although being able to hear the sounds would be a really cool start hehe. I know a lot of you guys have JP8080 (My next purchase)'s and Access Virus's wired up to FL Studio, so how do you do it?

I also really need to work out how to set up and route the audio signal that is going into my audiophile from the M-DC1. How do I get that routed throught the Delta Mixer into the fruity mixer or step sequencer track, so that I can hear it?

ok well, i'm not familiar with how your soundcard + sound module work, but i think it should be pretty easy, provided that you have the right setup. before i go any further, let me say that i'm @ work and i'm going off of my memory with most of this, so my explanition may be wierd.

first, if you want to program midi in FL and then have your module play back the midi, you need to:

configure the midi info in the options menu and load up a midi out(can be found where your other VSTs are located). program your notes in the midi out, and as long as you have the options configed correctly and the midi cables hooked up properly, then it should work.

you may have to fiddle with the midi port # and stuff( just look around, you'll find it)

second, if you want to record, you need a preamp...dunno if your card has or not. if it doesn't then you need to buy a preamp...or rather, get a mixer with built in preamps.

so, assumin you have a preamp and that you've made the necessary cable connections, you have to:

(ok this is gonna be hard since i dont have FL infront of me)

(and this is my method, there may be better ways to do this)

open the mixer, configure the output/input stuff, press record, press play, play your shit(or your midi pattern) and it should work.

lol, ok so my explaintion wasn't too great, but like i said, i'm tired and @ work. this should get you on the right track, and feel free to ask me if you have any specific questions.

hope this helps

paulc, you might need ASIO to get audio input to FL. go get Asio4All at www.asio4all.com and install that. Then, on the mixer track you want your synth to go to, click the IN bar above the effects stack and select your soundcards input (or whatever input youre using). Dont forget to enable asio in the options->audio settings menu. Then just use a MIDI Out module set to the port and channel you want and its all ready to play from the MIDI Out module.
