What's your Computer Setup?

We have threads for Macs and PCs, but I figured for us multi-platform users, or even those who just have a home network they'd like to show off, we should get a thread started. So...I'll be the first.

NeoPhono's Home Network

Laptop - My Little White Bitch: Used for School Work and Lazy-Ass Web Surfing from the Couch

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

MacBook White
Intel 2 GHz Core Duo
1 GB RAM
80 GB HD

Media Center - Recording/Watching Video, Music Server

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Custom Built
AMD XP 1700+ (overclocked)
1 GB RAM
160 GB HD
GeForce FX 5500
32" LCD Monitor/HDTV

Main Computer - Music Production, Website Coding, Gaming

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Custom Built
Pentium 4 3.2 GHz
1 GB RAM
1 x 70 GB HD
1 x 200 GB HD
Radeon X600 (sucks, I know)
24" Dell LCD Monitor

Design Computer - Web, Graphic Design

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

iMac
Intel 2 GHz Core Duo
1 GB RAM
200 GB HD
Radeon X1600
20" LCD Monitor

All these tied together via a Linksys Wireless G Router. The "Main" and "Design" computers are hooked up via ethernet cable, the laptop and "Media Center" are wireless to the hub. The hub is located in the "control room" where the iMac and PC are. Here's a picture of the room.

Neophono:

You didn't mention the other components in your media center and main computer.

Here's the "main" computer's components. I'll get the "media" computer's setup in a sec. The sad thing about the "main" setup is that it's my newest computer, besides the MacBook, and it's already starting to get outdated . Such is the computer world, I guess.

main:

Prescott 3.2 GHz P4
ASUS P5LD2 (LGA 775) MB
1x1 GB muschkin DDR2 667 SDRAM
SB Audigy 2 Platinum
Seagate Barricuda SATA 80 GB HD
Samsung (generic) IDE 200 GB HD
Diamond Radeon X600 256 MB PCIex16
(all in an old Dell POS case, my "nice" case went to the media center computer to help keep it quiet)

Notable peripherals:
Edirol PCR-80 midi controller/keyboard
EVENT 20/20 studio monitors with matching 250w subwoofer
Boston Acoustics (everyday speakers) 2.1 speakers
Sony MDR-V600 studio/DJ headphones

- I had some frustrations not being able to run some programs I needed strictly on Linux (Red Hat), so I've been using a version of Windows Media Center on it. I feel dirty, but sometimes you just have to sin.

The important stuff.

Question though:

The Event speakers are plugged into what amp? I don't see any mention of any other hookup besides binding posts.

The reason I ask is that I want to get studio monitors and not those cheapo computer "audiophile" speakers that sound like a trainwreck.

Actually, the Event 20/20's are powered. (Technically, they're the 20/20bas's, although there's also an unpowered version) They do run through the sub first, which has a built in band pass filter. You can run them without the sub as well.

I have the same thing, but version 1.

These look good to me:

Behringer MS40 Studio Monitors

Roland / Edirol Digital Stereo Micro Monitors MA-15D

I've been a Behringer buyer for about 8 years now, but I like the way the Rolands look.
