Thinking about getting back into DJing..what do I need now?Have 1200's and a mixer!

Ok I guess I would seem oldschool to the dj's out there now. I started to DJ in 96 and stopped in 2001. Now I have a pair of Techniques 1200s and a Numark mixer(which is shit now and I plan on getting something better maybe..depends on how serious I am going to get.

So what should I upgrade to? I've seem Final Scratch and stuff like that...they look cool.

You could stick with your 1200's and just get some new music.

CD decks are probably not a good investment (since you already have working? decks), but a mixer upgrade is probably a worthy investment (like you said, depending on how serious you get).

If you enjoy the tactile control of vinyl, FinalScratch, Serato, and the like are certainly options. I've never used any of them myself, but Serato seems to be more preferred. It should be known that you will need a computer as well (check hardware requirements) to play and hold the music.
