Why is my 1 minute song 12mb? ableton live

So I made a little 1 minute track using little .wav clips and what not, and to my surprise the file is 12 (TWELVE) mb. This is a very large file and I was wondering why? I'm using Ableton Live 6 and I couldn't find anything in the manual about why this could be. I used the "render to disk" and "master". confused...

Thanks in Advance.

Well, wav files are roughly 10mb per minute so it's not really surprising at all.

and this is at CD quality. could be that have your quality set a little higher maybe if it's exactly 1 min, if it's around 1 min 12 sec, then it should normal for CD quality.

no, MIDI has nothing to do with it

MIDI is completly different then wav mp3 etc It doesnt contain the actual sound. Only commands to which sound to play at which time

Take your wav file and compress it to mp3. If you convert it to 320 the quality loss will be minimal but the file size should go down. Cheers
