Journey to the centre of the building
Last night, while doing my mildly strenuous limbering up routine, the timeless classic "journey to the centre of the earth" came on.
After watching it I couldn't help but think, I've been living a lie all these years.
All this time I have been journeying, but for what? I journey here, I journey there, always somewhere, but never to the centre. How could I be so close minded and never realize what was right in front of me the whole time?
So with this new found inspiration, I decided to start my journeying today.
My first obstacle appeared almost immediately when I realized that in the world I live in, journeying to the centre of the earth is quite a bit more impossible than in the movie.
I wasn't about to let that stop me, I just needed to adapt my thinking.
I could still journey to the centre, just of something else.
I decided that I would journey to the centre of my building.
However, this too proved to be difficult.
I started asking around the office, "where is the centre of the building"
One guy said the cafeteria, another guy said 6th floor, one guy said the bathroom for christ sake, but he was just an intern.
The problem was that the centre changed depending on where you started.
If you started at alans office window you got to three steps to the right of the elevator, if you started by becky's cubicle you made it to the fake plant in the hallway.
It seems I am destined for failure whatever I do.
I'm going for lunch.
