Question: Help...am I too old to party?

I am going to be 40 this summer. I have been dancing since the days of Industry.
I love trance/dancing. I have younger friends and I consider us a pretty cool group who have fun but don't make spectacles of our selves.I stick to myself and I am there for the tunes. I am in pretty good shape but i am balding, and age is starting to show but i have always been told I look younger than i am.
My fear is that I don't want to be "that old guy in the club".
When is it time it to walk away? When will you walk away?
Thanks

I entered semi-retirement at 29... but that has more to do with other priorities rather then being too old. My advice... who give a rats ass if someone refers to you as "the old dude"... as long as you're having fun.

if balding is what you're afraid of then don't be. i started losing my hair when i turned 20. wear a hat or shave your head. as for what age you should stop partying at, i honestly don't know but if you feel that you need to stop then you probably should.

What does your mom say?

Seriously, who cares what others think? As long as you're having fun and aren't causing trouble, it's all good!

(We need that pic of that grandma rocking out at Nat's BBQ again)

I fully plan on being that old guy in the club. Not the creepy one or anything lol but I love music, and the scene way too much to ever quit for good.

exactly.
if you still enjoy going out and dancing and listening to music that you enjoy, dont let your age or what others think stop you. stop when you want to stop.

You're only as old as you feel.

I think you only get "too old" when "grown up" priorities get pushed aside because you're partying.

I have a few close friends I party with that are all over 40 and honestly their age means nothing to me at all. it's just a number.

I wish the courts would see it that way too.

I agree with all of the sentiments here. Enjoy yourself for as long as you want to.

If you truly love the music, then age is irrelevant.

Some may say that older people in clubs are creepy. I've seen creepy people of all ages in clubs. Being significantly older than most of those in attendance isn't at all an issue, if you are contributing to the overall vibe.

When you are g'd out and hitting on the 19 year olds - that's another story.

I usually feel like that old guy in the club but I just don't care. I'm not 40 yet, only 36 but I'll probably still be doing this at 40 and beyond. I only started 6 months ago so I'm allowed. I'm there for the music and dancing, and to hang with my friends. If you're trying to pick up young women there might be a problem being the old guy but otherwise I don't see why it matters. There is this kid at CZ who calls me dad though.

Which “old guy” are you talking about ?
